It's okay to not be okay.

My blog is 7,9, is it 12 days late?… yeah or even more.
I woke up the morning that I was supposed to release my weekly episode feeling blank. Zero motivation, zero inspiration.
At my day job, I had a list of deliverables due that morning too.
The week kicked off as one of those where I didn’t feel like doing anything.
I was angry and disappointed at myself that I hadn't hit the target of the goals that I'd set for myself.
Deep inside I knew how I felt though. I was tired. Burnt out, mentally exhausted, drained.

I am a very ambitious person but that morning you'd barely recognise me. I knew I had goals and visions waiting to get accomplished but didn't really feel like I could do anything about it at that moment. Oh and I wasn't hungry or broke.(winks)
I was in the middle of “yes this is what i want, but i'm just tired of chasing it. Can I sleep today?”
The constant life demands, the pressures, deadlines to meet, responsibilities can be overwhelming, one can even lack the moment to pause and actually breath.
If this piece speaks to you and you happen to have so much on your plate, with a bunch of responsibilities, or you had one of those rough week starts, you're just trying to keep it together, low motivation etc; Well this is for you. I see you sis, I hear you bro.
And it's okay, the way you feel is valid.
It doesnt mean you're half committed, or aren’t a loyal person or you're not hungry to chase your dreams anymore. You're human and you're not perfect, slow down and listen to your body.
Even the days when you have nothing figured out, that is part of the journey too and even makes it worthwhile. Such days become stories you tell after crossing to the other side of success.
So, what's the point of pushing a half motivated self to deliver just below average when you could listen to your body, get some rest, reset and then bounce back like the fighter that you are.
Well, here's 5 things that get me through such low energy days. If you can relate, you may try them out too.
Cut off internet use if you use it more often
Empty your mind, don't watch tv, don't read a book, just stop consuming anything mentally, let your mind wander off.
Sleep.
Do something that's totally different from your usual routine. Go swim or run.
Practice gratitude. (This will make you realize you're at a point that you prayed for,and then push you to get up and work even harder.
After you've rebooted, bounce back like you never left.
